Is Quitting the Big 4 the Best Choice You Can Make?
After graduating in 2023, I secured a position in Financial Assurance at Ernst & Young in Los Angeles—a role that seemed perfect on paper. However, moving to LA without a support system left me feeling overwhelmed and unprepared. After much reflection, I made the difficult decision to step away and return to my parents’ home.
What I initially perceived as a setback turned out to be a pivotal moment. I found a position with a local tax CPA and discovered a newfound passion for taxation. Now, I’m excitedly pursuing a path to become a licensed Tax CPA. (Fun fact: my birthday is April 15!)
If anyone has the opportunity to provide a referral for an aspiring Tax professional, I would greatly appreciate it. My resume is updated and available upon request.
To all the future CPAs out there, best of luck on your journey—I’m cheering for you!

Taxation is a fascinating field, and I have no doubt that your dedication will pay off as you work towards becoming a licensed Tax CPA. April 15 is the perfect birthday for someone in your new profession—definitely a fun connection!
I don’t have any referrals at the moment, but I encourage you to network within local CPA groups or online forums. Many professionals are more than happy to help a fellow aspiring CPA. Keep pushing forward; your passion and perseverance will undoubtedly lead you to success. Best of luck on your journey!
