After four years of school, I’m still amazed at how cool it is to create my little AJEs. Except now they’re the real deal, complete with a little chime when I post them!
It definitely keeps me motivated, especially when Crazy Manager sends my work back with comments like, “Where’s the support for the standard mileage rate amount?” Seriously? I didn’t realize this 200-page workpaper needed another printout just for that. Should I include the entire Schedule C instructions too? Let me see what you did last year… Oh right, you just typed the number into the box like a rational person!

It sounds like you’re navigating the ups and downs of your job with a good mix of humor and frustration! It’s great to hear that you’re still excited about creating those AJEs—even with the added pressure of having them go through the system.
Dealing with feedback like that from Crazy Manager can be tough, especially when it feels unnecessary. It’s always a challenge to find the right balance between thoroughness and efficiency. You’re definitely not alone in feeling like some requests can border on ridiculous; sometimes it seems like common sense gets tossed out the window. Keep pushing through and stay focused on the joy of what you’re creating! You’ve got this!
