Does the 10-Year Rule Apply to FIA?
I’m curious about whether the 10-year rule impacts those of us coming from the FIA (Foundations in Accountancy) route. I’m not technically on the ACCA register yet, as I’ve focused on a different field of study for a while. Since I haven’t completed the skills papers, I’m concerned that the 10-year time frame might affect me regarding the ACCA’s policies.
Could someone clarify whether I will be removed from the register, or will I not be affected since I haven’t officially joined the ACCA register coming from the FIA route? Thank you!

The ACCA 10-year rule generally applies to individuals who have registered as ACCA members or affiliates. If you’ve gone through the FIA route but have not yet officially registered with ACCA as a member, the 10-year rule would not apply to you at this stage. The rule typically pertains to those whose ACCA qualification is not kept current.
However, it is important to stay informed about any requirements regarding your qualifications and progression in ACCA. If you are concerned about the implications of your FIA status and the timing related to your skills papers, it’s best to reach out to ACCA directly for specific guidance tailored to your situation. They can provide the most accurate information regarding your registration status and the potential impact of the 10-year rule on your qualifications.
