UK CISI Wealth Management
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone who has taken the CISI exams in the UK could share their insights on the difficulty level and the amount of time needed for study.
I’ve successfully completed all three levels of the CFA in the Portfolio Management track prior to the new structure.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hey there!
Congrats on passing all three CFA levels—that’s a significant achievement! As for the CISI Wealth Management exams, many candidates find them to be manageable, especially with your background in the CFA program.
In terms of difficulty, the CISI exams are generally considered to be less intensive than the CFA exams, but they still require a solid understanding of wealth management principles and practices. Depending on your familiarity with the topics, you might find it easier or more challenging.
As for study time, many candidates recommend spending around 100-150 hours for each exam, but this can vary based on your prior knowledge and study habits. Given your CFA background, you might be able to get by with less time, especially if you’re already comfortable with the core concepts.
It might also help to look at the specific syllabus for each CISI exam to identify areas that you may need to focus on more. Good luck with your studies, and feel free to reach out if you have more questions!
Best,
