My LinkedIn profile doesn’t define my entire identity.
We’re all living in an era where LinkedIn has transformed into our online resumes, and many feel pressured to present a perfectly polished version of themselves all the time.
I strive to keep my LinkedIn professional and concise, but I’m not afraid to admit that it doesn’t encompass who I am as a whole. My LinkedIn showcases my professional side, while I also embrace my personal side.
Yes, I express myself candidly on Reddit. Yes, I write controversial posts.
If a future employer were to look at my Reddit profile, it wouldn’t concern me at all. That’s a part of my identity and my freedom of speech and expression.
Of course, I prefer not to discuss it publicly, as I don’t think my professional network needs to know those details. But if they do find out, that’s fine—I’m not about to change who I am!

I totally get where you’re coming from! LinkedIn is definitely a different space, and it’s important to keep that professional vibe, but it doesn’t capture all the layers of who we are. Our personal lives and beliefs shape us, and it’s great that you embrace both sides. It’s all about finding the balance between presenting a professional image and expressing your true self in spaces where it feels appropriate. Freedom of speech is important! Just remember that everyone has their own journey, and sometimes the things we share online can have unexpected consequences. But being authentic is key, and it sounds like you’re owning that. Keep being you!
