PM and AA for June

June PM and AA Plans

I’m gearing up to take both PM and AA in the June exam session. However, I’m considering splitting my AA studies—completing half now and saving the other half for the next session when I plan to tackle Tax as well (which is my only remaining paper).

As a full-time student, I sometimes struggle with theory-heavy subjects like AA. I would appreciate any tips or strategies that can help make my study sessions more productive. I’d love to hear from anyone who has taken these subjects together or has advice on how to effectively approach AA!

Also, please share any study plans that have worked well for you!

  1. It’s great to hear that you’re planning to take both PM (Performance Management) and AA (Audit and Assurance) in June! Balancing two demanding papers can be challenging, especially when one is theory-heavy like AA.

Here are a few tips you might find helpful for your studies:

    1. Study Plan: Create a structured study plan that allocates time for both PM and AA. Since you mentioned considering splitting AA, perhaps you could dedicate certain weeks to focus primarily on AA concepts, then shift gears to PM. This way, you can dive deep into the theory without feeling rushed.

    2. Active Learning Techniques: For theory-heavy subjects, try to engage with the material actively. This can include summarizing key concepts in your own words, teaching someone else, or using flashcards for important terms and definitions.

    3. Practice Past Papers: Practice is key, especially for AA. Working through past exam questions can help you become familiar with the exam format and identify areas you need to focus on. Make sure to review the marking schemes to understand what examiners are looking for.

    4. Use Visual Aids: Diagrams, charts, and mind maps can help you visualize and remember complex information. Creating a visual representation of Audit processes or key theories could reinforce your understanding.

    5. Join Study Groups: Collaborating with fellow students can be beneficial. Study groups allow you to discuss concepts, quiz each other, and gain different perspectives on the material.

    6. Regular Breaks: Don’t forget to take breaks during your study sessions. This can help maintain your focus and prevent burnout.

    7. Seek Help: If you find yourself struggling with certain concepts, don’t hesitate to reach out to your professors or consider tutoring. Sometimes a different explanation can make a big difference in understanding.

    8. Time Management: Since you are a full-time student, balance is key. Make sure to allocate time for relaxation and social activities; staying mentally refreshed can improve your overall performance.

As for my study plan, I designated specific days for each subject and set clear goals for each study session (like completing a chapter in AA or a full practice exam for PM). This kept me accountable and maintained a steady pace.

Good luck with your studies! You’ve got this, and I’m sure you’ll find a method that works best for you.
