How long will it take to finish the CA course?
Hi everyone! I have a question regarding my timeline. I’m planning to take the Foundation exam in September 2025. If I manage to complete the Foundation, Intermediate, and Articleship all on the first attempt, when could I expect to take the Final exam?
Just a note: I understand that passing all the exams on the first try is quite rare. I’m simply looking for an estimate and would like to know the minimum age at which I could finish the course if everything goes smoothly. I’m currently almost 20 years old.

Hey! Based on your timeline, here’s a rough estimate:
Foundation: Since you’re planning to take the Foundation exam in September 2025, you’ll need to pass that.
Intermediate: After clearing the Foundation, you can typically register for the Intermediate exam. If you manage to complete all the papers in your first attempt, you could take the Intermediate exams in May 2026 and November 2026.
Articleship: You need to complete 3 years of articleship, which can start after passing either of the two groups of the Intermediate exam. If you start your articleship after passing the May 2026 exams, you’d be looking at finishing around May 2029.
Final Exams: After completing your articleship, you can sit for the Final exams. If you manage to clear everything in one go, you might be eligible to take your Final exams by November 2029.
So, assuming everything goes smoothly, you could potentially finish the CA course and be able to take the Final exams by November 2029.
In terms of age, since you’re about to turn 20, you would be around 24 or 25 years old when you complete the CA.
