If I have got 2.5yrs experience due to doing an AAT apprenticeship does this count towards the 3yrs experience needed for ACCA?

I have 2.5 years of experience from my AAT apprenticeship. Does this count towards the 3 years of experience required for ACCA? I’m nearing the end of my AAT studies in London, and I understand I’ll be eligible for some exam exemptions with ACCA. However, I’d like to know if my apprenticeship experience will also contribute to meeting the experience requirement for ACCA.

  1. Yes, your 2.5 years of experience gained during your AAT apprenticeship can count toward the practical experience requirement for ACCA, provided it meets their criteria. ACCA usually requires three years of relevant work experience, which can be obtained before, during, or after your exams.

Make sure that your experience includes a range of relevant skills and competencies that align with the ACCA’s Performance Objectives. It’s a good idea to document your work experience and perhaps discuss it with your mentor or supervisor to ensure it fulfills ACCA’s requirements. Additionally, keep an eye on any specific guidelines or forms you may need to complete when applying for recognition of your prior experience. Good luck with your ACCA journey!
