Subject: UAE Visa – CA without a B.Com
Hello,
I wanted to share some information regarding UAE visa requirements. It seems that for visa purposes, CA certificates aren’t accepted, and generally, visas are issued based on a +2 certificate.
I don’t hold a degree but have recently had an interview and am now in the final stages of receiving an offer letter. Could not having a degree pose a problem? Are you aware of any Chartered Accountants working in government entities without a formal degree?
Thanks!

Hi,
Congratulations on reaching the final stages of the interview process! While it’s true that many companies in the UAE prefer candidates with formal degrees for visa purposes, there are instances where professional qualifications like CA (Chartered Accountant) can be valued highly, especially if you have relevant experience.
Not having a degree might pose some challenges, particularly with visa approvals, but it depends on the specific employer and the role you are applying for. Some companies, especially in the finance and Accounting sectors, may prioritize your professional qualifications and experience over formal education.
As for CAs working in government entities without a degree, it might be less common, but there are certainly cases where individuals have succeeded based on their professional expertise and demonstrated skills. Networking with professionals in your field can also provide insights into how others have navigated similar situations.
If you receive an offer, it might be a good idea to discuss any visa concerns directly with the employer to see how they handle situations like yours. Good luck!
