Seeking Guidance: No Experience at 22
Hello everyone, I’m a recent graduate (as of July 2024) and spent some time traveling over the summer. Unfortunately, I haven’t secured a graduate role yet.
Am I in trouble? Will companies still consider me for interviews even though I haven’t landed a position by now?
Ideally, I’d love to find a company that will support me in pursuing my ACCA, but I’m starting to wonder if that’s just wishful thinking since I feel like I’m getting older. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! First off, you’re definitely not doomed—many graduates face similar challenges, and it’s great that you’re seeking support. Companies still look for candidates without experience, especially recent graduates. The important thing is to highlight your skills, any relevant coursework, and your enthusiasm for the role.
Regarding ACCA support, there are certainly companies that value education and offer sponsorship for professional qualifications, so it’s not unrealistic. Try looking for firms that have graduate programs or trainee positions focused on development. Networking can also open doors—reach out to contacts in the industry, attend job fairs, and consider joining relevant professional groups.
Finally, consider applying for internships or entry-level positions, even if they’re not directly aligned with your dream job. These can help you gain valuable experience and may lead to opportunities to pursue ACCA sponsorship later on. Stay positive and keep pushing forward; you’ve got this!
