Considering a Move Before Getting My CPA License?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some solid advice. I’m currently living in a city that I’m not fond of and working at an Accounting firm that doesn’t bring me joy, even though I’m gaining valuable experience in both Audit and tax.
My heart is set on Chicago, where I frequently travel every other weekend (minus tax season), and I’m really drawn to the vibe there. The dilemma I’m facing is whether I should complete my CPA exams here in Iowa or make the move to Chicago and pursue it there. Since I’m still early in my career, I feel a bit uncertain about my next steps.
One of my Audit managers suggested I just take the plunge and move to Chicago to obtain my license there, but I’m still on the fence. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
