As a future firm owner looking to navigate both the Accounting and business landscapes, I highly recommend “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries. Although it’s primarily focused on startups, it offers invaluable insights into building a sustainable business, creating efficient workflows, and measuring progress—essential skills for any firm owner.
For Accounting specifically, “Financial Intelligence” by Karen Berman and Joe Knight is a great read. It breaks down financial concepts into easily digestible pieces, helping you understand the financial aspects of running a business better, which will be crucial for your firm’s success.
Combining these two perspectives will give you a solid foundation in both business strategy and financial management as you embark on your entrepreneurial journey. Happy reading!
