I have interviews in 2 weeks for The Moody Street Group Financial Professional Internship Position and Sales Development Intern for Premium Merchant Funding? Does anyone know what interview questions there will be or if these companies are not a scam like Northwestern Mutual?

I have interviews coming up in two weeks for a Financial Professional Internship at The Moody Street Group and a Sales Development Internship at Premium Merchant Funding. Does anyone have insights on the types of interview questions I might encounter, or can you confirm if these companies are reputable, unlike Northwestern Mutual?

As a sophomore, I’m considering a career in Wealth Management, Asset Management, Equity Research, Investment Management, or corporate finance after graduation. I’m actively applying for internships, and these two companies have invited me to schedule interviews. Any advice on their reputations and what to expect in the interviews would be greatly appreciated!

  1. It’s great to hear that you have interviews lined up! Both The Moody Street Group and Premium Merchant Funding can offer valuable experience, but it’s smart to do your due diligence.

    Regarding the companies:
Research: Look up reviews on sites like Glassdoor or Indeed to see what past interns and employees have said. Check their LinkedIn pages as well to see their connections and if they have a strong professional presence.
Ask about the roles: During your interviews, don’t hesitate to ask about what current and former interns have gained from their experiences and what their typical career paths look like after completing the program.

Interview Questions: While I can’t predict the exact questions, here are some common ones you might encounter:
    1. Behavioral Questions: “Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team,” or “Describe a challenge you’ve faced and how you dealt with it.”
    2. Situational Questions: “How would you handle a difficult client?” or “What would you do if you missed a deadline?”
    3. Company-Specific Questions: “What do you know about our company?” or “Why do you want to work here?”
    4. Technical Questions: Depending on the role, you might also face questions related to finance concepts or sales strategies.

    Preparation Tips:
Know Your Resume: Be ready to discuss your past experiences and how they relate to the internship roles.
Practice Common Questions: Try to have responses to common interview questions prepared.
Prepare Your Questions: At the end of the interview, have a couple of thoughtful questions ready about the company culture, training, and what success looks like in the role.

Best of luck with your interviews! They can be a stepping stone into the finance world, so make the most of the opportunity.
