Title: What Do You Wish You Had Taken with You When You Changed Jobs?
To everyone who has transitioned to a new job, what is one thing you wish you had brought along with you? I’m curious to hear about the experiences of those who have moved from one company to another.
One response
When I switched jobs, I really wished I had taken a few key things with me. First and foremost, I missed the strong relationships I had built with my colleagues. Those connections made my work life enjoyable and collaborative, and it took time to establish that kind of rapport in my new role.
Additionally, I missed the specific insights and institutional knowledge I had about our processes and projects. Even though I was excited about the new challenges, it was tough to start from scratch without that background information.
Finally, I wish I had brought some elements of my previous company’s culture that I really valued, like the open-door policy for senior management. It fostered an environment where everyone felt heard and encouraged new ideas. Overall, while I was excited about my new opportunity, those aspects of my old job made the transition a bit harder than I anticipated.
What about you? What do you wish you’d taken along?
