Is there anyone in this group who studied or is currently studying at UTS? I’m aspiring to become an investment banker, and I’m worried that not attending a Big 8 university in Australia might hinder my chances of achieving my dream.

It’s great that you’re pursuing a career in investment banking! While attending a Big 8 university can help with networking and recognition, it’s not the only path to success in the industry. Many successful investment bankers come from a variety of educational backgrounds.
What’s more important is your ability to develop relevant skills and experiences. Focus on building a strong academic record, getting involved in finance-related extracurricular activities, and seeking internships in the field. Networking is also crucial, so try to connect with professionals in the industry, attend seminars, and participate in relevant events.
Remember, determination and hard work can often outweigh the name of your university. Best of luck with your studies and your future career!
