CA Inter First attempt in May 2025 and I’m stressed out

Feeling overwhelmed before my CA Inter first attempt in May 2025

I’m set to take my first exam on May 25, and I’m feeling completely lost right now. This is just a rant to help me sort through my thoughts because everything feels off at the moment. With only 50 days left, I still have to cover the entirety of Strategic Management, half of Audit, and Cost and Financial Management. I’m eager to take both groups, but my current situation says otherwise. I’ve always done well academically, but this time I’m worried I might really mess things up.

I want to do this not just for myself but for my mom—I don’t want to let her down. Maybe I’m being unrealistic, but I still hold onto the hope that a miracle might happen and I could pass both groups on my first attempt. I’m lost on what to do next. I’ve been setting timers and tracking my study sessions, yet no matter how hard I try, I can only manage about 6 to 7 hours of effective study time each day. I’m really at a loss for words.

If anyone has any advice or insights, I’d really appreciate it.

And by the way, if you could suggest some important chapters for Audit and Cost, that would be super helpful!

P.S. It’s disheartening to see 130 views with no comments—anyone?

  1. Hey there! First of all, I want to acknowledge how you’re feeling right now. It’s completely normal to feel stressed, especially with exams around the corner. Just remember, you’re not alone in this; many others are feeling the same way.

With 50 days left, you still have time to make progress. Here are a few tips that might help you manage your study plan better:

    1. Prioritize Your Subjects: Given that you’re feeling overwhelmed, it might help to focus on subjects that you find most challenging first. Since you mentioned you’re halfway through Audit and still have a lot to cover in SM, Cost, and FM, try prioritizing these based on weightage and your comfort level.

    2. Create a Study Schedule: Break down your study materials into manageable sections for each day. Setting clear daily goals can make your study sessions feel more achievable and less daunting.

    3. Practice Mock Tests: Simulate exam conditions with mock tests. This will help you get used to the format and timing and also identify areas where you need to improve.

    4. Stay Positive and Take Breaks: It’s essential to keep a positive mindset. Take short breaks during your study sessions to recharge. A little exercise or going for a walk can help clear your mind.

    5. Connect with Peers: Don’t hesitate to reach out to fellow students. They can provide support, resources, or even help clarify doubts.

As for your request on important chapters:

    Audit: Focus on:
    – Basics of Audit
    – Internal Control System
    Audit Procedures and Techniques
    – Company Audit

    Costing: Pay attention to:
    – Cost Sheet Preparation
    – Marginal Costing vs. Absorption Costing
    – Budgetary Control
    – Standard Costing

Remember, your effort counts more than perfection. Believe in yourself; miracles happen when you work hard and stay focused. You’re closer to your goal than you think! Wishing you all the best in your preparation! You’ve got this! 💪✨
