Exploring Ways to Gain Accounting Experience Independently
I’ve tried countless methods to gain experience in Accounting, but living in a small town presents its own challenges. Local job opportunities are scarce, and potential employers often dismiss my applications when they learn I run my own tax firm and am not available for year-round work. Currently, I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree and working towards my enrolled agent status, and I’m confident in my Accounting abilities. However, I lack practical experience. Are there any alternative approaches I might consider? I’ve reached out to nearly 50 CPAs and accounting firms, attended four interviews, but each one required a year-round commitment. I’m at a loss for what to do next.
