What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

Unusual Document Submissions: Share Your Stories!

In the world of client communications, we often encounter a vast array of document submission methods that range from the mundane to the downright absurd. It’s a common challenge that many professionals face, and sometimes, the stories behind these submissions are just too amusing to ignore.

For instance, one of my clients once sent me a photo of a PDF opened on their iPad—captured with a Samsung phone, no less—and then emailed this image to me. As a result, we found ourselves manually processing an invoice that could have been easily shared in a different format. It was certainly an eye-opening experience!

I’m genuinely curious to hear about your experiences with unusual document submissions. Have you received handwritten notes that were nearly impossible to decipher? Or perhaps you’ve been sent upside-down scans or creatively renamed files like “Image(345).jpg”?

These quirky submissions highlight the chaos we occasionally encounter in our professional lives. While I’m not promoting any solutions just yet, I would love to gather some of your stories to remind ourselves that we’re not the only ones navigating these challenges. Let’s embrace the laughter and perhaps learn a thing or two from one another’s experiences!
