What’s the most simple bookkeeping software for a self-employed independent contractor (LLC taxed as s-corp)? All I have are (few) expenses and monthly 1099 compensation.

Finding the Right Bookkeeping Software for Independent Contractors

For self-employed independent contractors operating as an LLC taxed as an S-corporation, effective Bookkeeping is essential. However, with a relatively straightforward financial landscape—consisting mainly of 1099 income and minimal expenses—navigating through Accounting Software options can feel overwhelming.

I primarily offer healthcare services under a 1099 arrangement, and I handle my payroll through Gusto. Given the simplicity of my financial needs, I’m in search of the most straightforward Bookkeeping solution available. Unfortunately, robust options like QuickBooks often come with features I won’t use, resulting in unnecessary complexity and expense. My needs are quite basic—I only require software that can manage my income from 1099 forms and track a handful of business expenses.

I desire a user-friendly tool that doesn’t carry a price tag upwards of $35 per month, as seen with QuickBooks Simple Start. Moreover, since I primarily work from my iOS device, an application that allows for mobile management is a must. Integration with my bank and credit card accounts to automatically import transactions would make the process even more seamless.

Currently, I’m considering Wave and Zoho Books as potential options. Both seem to offer the simplicity I need without overwhelming features.

If anyone has insights or experiences with these platforms—or other recommendations that align with my requirements—I would greatly appreciate your input!
