What’s the most simple bookkeeping software for a self-employed independent contractor (LLC taxed as s-corp)? All I have are (few) expenses and monthly 1099 compensation.

Simplifying Bookkeeping for Independent Contractors: A Search for User-Friendly Software

As a self-employed independent contractor operating as an LLC taxed as an S-Corporation, finding the right Bookkeeping software can be a daunting task. Particularly when your financial needs are straightforward, such as managing limited expenses and receiving monthly 1099 compensation.

In my case, I provide healthcare services and process my payroll through Gusto. With my Accounting requirements being so simple—consisting solely of 1099 forms from facilities I work with and a handful of business expenses—I find that traditional software like QuickBooks is more complex than necessary. I need a streamlined solution that facilitates easy management without the overwhelming features often seen in broader systems.

The ideal Bookkeeping software for me should meet the following criteria:
Simplicity: It needs to be intuitive and user-friendly. I don’t require functionalities such as inventory management, invoicing, or time tracking.
Affordability: I’m seeking an option that is budget-friendly, ideally costing less than $35 per month, which is the price point for QuickBooks Simple Start.
Mobile Accessibility: A robust iOS app is essential for me to manage my finances on the go.
Bank Synchronization: I would appreciate software that can seamlessly link to my bank and credit card accounts to automatically import transactions.

At the moment, I’m considering two popular options: Wave and Zoho Books. Both seem to offer the basic features I require, but I welcome any insights or recommendations from others who have navigated similar circumstances.

If you have experience with straightforward bookkeeping solutions for contractors or can suggest alternatives, I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you for your help!
