Starting a Freelance Bookkeeping Business: Tips for Success
As my wife embarks on an exciting new journey to establish her own freelance Bookkeeping business, we are eager to gather insights from those with experience in the field. With nearly two decades of expertise in Accounting and Bookkeeping, she is well-equipped for this venture.
Her impressive background includes roles as a staff accountant and supervisor at a major cable company, overseeing payroll for over 800 employees. She has also served as an office manager and bookkeeper for various industries, including real estate development, construction, automotive, and more. Such a broad range of experience has honed her skills and prepared her for the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship.
Currently, my wife is finalizing her training in QuickBooks and completing all relevant certifications. With her professional website nearing completion, an engagement letter in hand, and a polished resume, she is poised to begin marketing her services.
It’s important to note that while she will not be providing tax services, she aims to target small to mid-sized businesses and newer entrepreneurs, offering them a cost-effective bookkeeping solution. Her capabilities include cleaning up disorganized financial records, generating profit and loss statements, balancing sheets, and providing insights on cost reduction strategies. She is a strong advocate for automation, which will be a key component of her service offerings.
