What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Most Unusual Document Submission Stories: A Call for Contributions

In the vast world of client communications, we often encounter unexpected scenarios that leave us bemused. Recently, I had an experience that made me realize just how creative (or perhaps unconventional) document submissions can be.

A client once sent me a photograph of a PDF displayed on their iPad, captured using a Samsung phone, and then emailed it over. As you can imagine, this unique approach resulted in quite the manual effort on our end to process the invoice.

In light of this, I’m reaching out to you, dear readers, to share your most peculiar or perplexing document submissions. Have you ever received a handwritten note filled with scribbles, an upside-down scan of a crucial document, or a file named something like “Image(345).jpg”? I’m sure the stories vary widely, each more amusing than the last.

I’m currently compiling these experiences to shed light on the chaos that can occur in document sharing, and I’m keen to know if there are more of us facing these oddities! This isn’t a pitch for a solution; I simply want to gather stories and connect with others who’ve navigated similar situations.

So, what’s your strangest or most bewildering way of receiving documents? Share your tales and let’s celebrate the quirks of client communications together!
