Embarking on a new business venture is both exhilarating and filled with questions. My wife is on the cusp of launching her freelance Bookkeeping service after dedicating nearly two decades to the Accounting and Bookkeeping industry. With an impressive background that includes roles such as staff accountant and office manager across diverse sectors like real estate development, construction, and auto mechanics, she is more than equipped to take this step.
Her extensive experience with QuickBooks is complemented by her pursuit of various certifications, further solidifying her expertise. The development of her professional website is nearly complete, and she has finalized her engagement letter and updated her resume. At this stage, she is preparing to market her services to potential clients.
It’s important to note that she will not be providing tax services, as she is neither a CPA nor an EA. Instead, she’s aiming to support small to mid-sized businesses and emerging enterprises, offering them a cost-effective bookkeeping solution. Her skills include tidying up disorganized financial records, creating profit and loss statements, balancing sheets, and suggesting cost-cutting measures. Additionally, she is keen on implementing automation for greater efficiency in her clients’ bookkeeping processes.
Our initial strategy involves reaching out to local CPA firms. We are contemplating the best approach to make our introduction—should we start with an email, make a phone call, or simply walk in? We would greatly appreciate any insights on how to leave a positive first impression during this outreach.
