What’s the dumbest way you’ve ever received a document from a client?

The Most Unconventional Document Submissions: A Call for Tales

In the realm of client communications, we’ve all encountered our fair share of bizarre document submissions. From poorly scanned images to file formats that leave us scratching our heads, the creative approaches some clients employ can be both amusing and exasperating.

Let me share an experience of my own: one time, a client sent me a photograph of a PDF displayed on their iPad—captured with their Samsung phone and then shared via email. To add to the absurdity, this meant we had to manually process an invoice that should have been a straightforward task.

I know I can’t be the only one with such stories. So, what’s the most ridiculous or unusual document submission you’ve encountered? Think of all the handwritten notes, upside-down scans, and files suspiciously named “Image(345).jpg.”

I’m gathering these tales as I work on a project aimed at streamlining this chaotic process. This isn’t about promoting a product; rather, it’s about finding camaraderie in the shared frustrations of our profession. Please share your experiences—I’d love to hear that I’m not navigating this chaos alone!
