My wife is almost ready to start taking on clients – looking for advice from experienced freelance bookkeepers.

Title: Launching a Freelance Bookkeeping Venture: Seeking Guidance from Industry Experts

Introduction

Embarking on a freelance journey in the Bookkeeping sector can be both exciting and daunting. My wife is on the brink of launching her own Bookkeeping business after a robust career in Accounting spanning over 15-20 years. She has gained invaluable experience working in diverse roles, including as a staff accountant and supervisor running payroll for over 800 employees at a prominent cable company, as well as office manager and bookkeeper for various industries such as real estate, construction, and automotive services. With her comprehensive skillset, she is ready to assist small to mid-sized businesses looking for cost-effective bookkeeping solutions.

A Solid Foundation for Success

Having honed her expertise in QuickBooks and currently pursuing additional certifications, my wife is in the final stages of setting up her business. Her new website is nearly complete, and she has successfully crafted an engagement letter and updated her resume. The time has come to focus on marketing her services and attracting clients.

It’s worth noting that she will not be offering tax services and is not a CPA or EA. Instead, her target market consists of emerging and smaller enterprises that need assistance with streamlining their financial processes. Her strengths lie in tidying up disorganized books, generating profit and loss statements, balancing sheets, and identifying potential cost-saving measures. Automation will also play a key role in her service offerings, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Strategic Networking with Local CPA Firms

As part of her initial strategy to attract clients, we plan to reach out to local CPA firms. We’re keen to understand the best approaches for making these connections. Should we initiate contact through emails, phone calls, or by visiting in person? Any insights on how to create a lasting first impression would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, we plan to adopt an hourly billing model for her services, making her an appealing option for businesses that need flexible Accounting solutions.
