The Hilarious and Sometimes Frustrating Ways Clients Send Documents
As professionals, we often find ourselves navigating a diverse array of communication styles and methods when working with clients. But every now and then, we encounter submissions that leave us scratching our heads in disbelief. Today, I’d like to share a particularly amusing experience I had, and I’d love to hear your stories as well.
In one memorable instance, a client chose to send me an invoice in an unconventional manner: they snapped a photo of a PDF displayed on their iPad using a Samsung phone, and then emailed that image to me. To add to the challenge, we then had to manually process the invoice from that rather creative submission. It was a real testament to the unique ways we can encounter miscommunication in our line of work!
Now, I’m curious—what’s the most peculiar or humorous way you’ve received documents from clients? Have you encountered handwritten notes that look like they were written in a hurry? Or perhaps you’ve opened an email attachment with a cryptic filename like “Image(345).jpg”? Whether it’s upside-down scans or something even more bizarre, I invite you to share your experiences.
I’m collecting these stories while working on a project aimed at simplifying and improving document submissions. It’s a small reminder that while we may face chaos in our work, there’s comfort in knowing we’re not alone. Join the conversation and let’s share a laugh over the quirky side of client communication!
