Unconventional Document Submissions: Share Your Most Surprising Stories
In the world of client communications, we often encounter unexpected scenarios that can leave us scratching our heads. One particular experience stands out in my memory, and I’d like to share it while inviting you to contribute your own stories.
Not too long ago, I received an invoice from a client in the most unconventional manner: they sent me a photograph of a PDF as it appeared on their iPad—captured using a Samsung phone—and then emailed me that image. As you can imagine, this led to quite a bit of manual processing just to get that invoice into our system!
I’m sure many of you have faced similarly perplexing document submissions. Whether it’s a handwritten note, an upside-down scan, or a file labeled with something like “Image(345).jpg,” these quirks are more common than we’d like to admit.
As I work on a project aimed at streamlining document submissions, I want to know I’m not alone in this chaotic landscape. What’s the strangest or most frustrating document you’ve ever received from a client?
I’d love to hear your stories! Let’s share our experiences and perhaps find some humor in the madness of client communications. Your anecdotes may even inspire solutions to tackle this ongoing challenge in our field.
