The Current Landscape of Graduate Recruitment: A Struggle for Retention
In recent weeks, our firm has faced a troubling trend in graduate retention. As we celebrated two new graduates who achieved their ACA qualifications, they promptly submitted their resignations. This brings the total count of graduates leaving for more lucrative industry positions to five this quarter alone.
This pattern raises an important question: Are we inadvertently training our junior talent only to lose them to corporate competitors? Despite our attempts to enhance our retention strategies, it increasingly feels like we’re fighting a losing battle. Current salary adjustments are not enough to match the attractive offers these graduates receive elsewhere, and our recent partners’ meeting suggested a worrying lack of awareness regarding the issue.
