Is Goldman Sachs’ hiring process painfully slow or are they ghosting me?

Title: Navigating the Lengthy Hiring Process at Top Firms: A Personal Experience with Goldman Sachs

When it comes to securing a position at prestigious financial institutions like Goldman Sachs, candidates often encounter unique challenges and uncertainties throughout the hiring process. I would like to share my personal experience, which has left me pondering whether the sluggish pace is typical or indicative of something more concerning.

In early February, I submitted my application for a specific role at Goldman Sachs. Shortly after, I had the opportunity to engage with a recruiter during the last week of February, which I thought was a promising start. Following that initial conversation, I progressed to interviews with both the hiring manager and a panel team over two days in the first week of March.

Since then, the process seems to have hit a roadblock. Though I reached out to the recruiter for an update, I received no response. About three weeks ago, I was informed by the hiring manager that I could expect feedback in a couple of weeks; however, that timeframe has long since passed without any additional information. The ambiguity surrounding the next steps has left me feeling frustrated and uncertain.

What makes this experience particularly perplexing is that I have never encountered such a drawn-out hiring process in my career thus far. While I remain hopeful that the lack of communication does not indicate an unfavorable outcome, I can’t help but wonder if this slow progression is a common occurrence for candidates pursuing opportunities at elite firms like Goldman Sachs.

As I navigate this waiting game, I encourage others in similar positions to remain patient and proactive. Stay in touch with your contacts, continue to seek feedback, and, most importantly, maintain a positive outlook. The hiring landscape can often be a winding journey, and your persistence may eventually pay off.
