11 LPA vs 8 LPA

Choosing Between Two Offers: 11 LPA vs 8 LPA

Hello everyone,

I’m currently facing a dilemma between two job offers I received. The first is for a Stat Audit role at a Big 6 firm in Mumbai, offering 11 LPA, while the second is for a finance position at another Big 6 firm in Delhi, with a compensation of 8 LPA. My ultimate goal is to build a career in finance.

A bit about my background: I recently qualified in November 2024 and completed my articleship at a mid-sized firm. I also faced multiple attempts during my finals, and I hold permanent residency in Delhi.

I’m feeling uncertain about which path to take. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. It’s great that you have two solid offers to choose from! Here are some points to consider as you make your decision:

    1. Long-Term Career Goals: Since you mentioned wanting a career in finance, the role in the finance profile may be more aligned with your aspirations. The experience you’ll gain in that position could be more valuable in the long run.

    2. Salary Considerations: The 11 LPA offer is higher and might be tempting, but weigh that against your career goals. Consider the potential salary growth in the finance role; it may have more room for advancement.

    3. Location: With permanent residency in Delhi, the offer in your home city may provide a more comfortable living situation and could also save you time and money on commuting.

    4. Company and Role Fit: Research the specific teams and cultures of each role. Sometimes, a job that aligns better with your interests and working style is worth more than just the salary.

    5. Networking and Opportunities: Working in a Big 6 firm will provide networking opportunities and exposure, but think about which position may open more doors for you in the finance industry.

    6. Work-Life Balance: Consider the lifestyle impacts of each role. Audit roles can sometimes involve longer hours, especially during peak seasons.

Ultimately, choose the offer that aligns best with your long-term goals and personal circumstances. Good luck with your decision!
